July 30, 2024 | Ellicott City, Maryland – The AKP Sports Foundation, the nation’s fastest-growing Asian American sports nonprofit, proudly hosted a free youth soccer clinic at Covenant Park in Ellicott City, Maryland. The event saw over 150 children from the D.C. Metropolitan area participate in a one-hour clinic led by experienced coaches and staff from the AKP Sports Foundation.
The clinic was a resounding success and served as a significant moment for the community, further underscoring AKP Sports Foundation’s commitment to its mission of providing opportunities and resources to Asian American communities across the country.
A highlight of the day was the special appearance by Korean soccer star Hwang Hee Chan, who currently plays in the English Premier League. "Bringing together children from diverse backgrounds to engage in sports is at the heart of what we do at AKP. This event exemplifies our Cares mission, which is about giving back to the community and fostering a love for sports among the next generation."
The free soccer clinic is part of AKP Sports Foundation’s broader efforts to support youth development and promote healthy, active lifestyles. The Foundation looks forward to continuing its work with local communities and expanding its reach to impact even more lives through sports.
