AKP Sports Foundation to Host its Second Sports Academy in Los Angeles

AKP Sports Foundation (AKP) will host its second AKP Sports Academy (Academy) on Saturday, June 28, 2025 in Southern California.
AKP Sports Academy is a free summer sports camp that provides 1st to 8th grade students an educational, affordable, and accessible sports camp experience. Academy provides the opportunity for children to learn and improve their skills in soccer and basketball from professional and collegiate athletes and coaches while fostering teamwork, collaboration, and sportsmanship.
Jay Yoon, one of the coaches who serves at AKP Sports Academy LA shared “Serving as a Coach at The Academy was nothing short of a blessing, to uplift LA youth championing AKP's mission of love and opportunity. The joy in the kids' eyes and the warmth in their smiles as they connected with staff and one another made each moment unforgettable. Excited to share this journey with everyone and can't wait for Academy 2025!"
This year’s Academy will take place at the Salvation Army Long Beach Corps & Community Center (3000 Long Beach Blvd Long Beach, CA). T-shirts, water, and snacks will be provided to the children.

In addition, AKP is excited to announce that Nike Hoop Summit coach and former high school and collegiate level basketball coach, Marshall Cho and Korean national basketball team member and current men’s basketball student-athlete at Seattle University Jun Seok Yeo will be joining Academy as special coaches for the basketball session.
Coach Marshall Cho served as an assistant coach at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD, Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Portland, and served for eight seasons as the varsity boys basketball coach at Lake Oswego High School. He has also worked as the head coach for consecutive years (2024 & 2025) with the World Select team at the Nike Hoop Summit.
Jun Seok Yeo is a student-athlete at Seattle University’s Men’s Basketball team. He most recently spent two seasons at Gonzaga University and attended Korea University in Seoul, South Korea before transferring to Gonzaga. Jun Seok played in the 2018 FIBA U-18 Asian Championship and helped the Korean senior national basketball team qualify for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup in his senior national team debut.
