AKP Sports Foundation Extends Partnership with Netflix to Host Special Screening of Swapped for Community Families
Los Angeles, CA — April 2026 – Every family deserved a moment to feel seen, celebrated and surrounded by community. AKP Sports Foundation is proud to announce a continued heartfelt partnership with Netflix since 2024 which has allowed it to host a special advance screening of Swapped, bringing together families from across our community for an afternoon of shared joy, laughter, and experience rooted in the belief that connection was at the heart of everything we do.
Swapped is a story about identity, belonging, and interconnectedness, themes that directly reflect AKP Sports Foundation’s mission and values. Just as the film portrayed community and human connection as essential components of identity formation, AKP Sports Foundation commits to the belief of uplifting youth and families which extends far beyond the playing field. This screening was a reflection of that commitment - an opportunity to celebrate the inherent worth and right of every family to have meaningful, joyful experiences.
Through this partnership with Netflix, AKP Sports Foundation welcomed families who have walked alongside the foundation through past events, inviting them to an exclusive, curated experience as part of holistic community engagement. The afternoon offered entertainment as a form of space to reconnect and celebrate, honoring the families presence and stories through the quiet pride of belonging to a present community.
The response from families was a powerful reminder of why this matters. A mother of three, shared “We really appreciated it. The event and the film were both great. We had a wonderful time - the kids especially enjoyed it and had so much fun.” Furthermore, a mother of four, expressed “The move was so good, what a blessing! My kids are so blessed!”. Moments like these allow us to reflect on the foundation’s primary driving force of genuinely engaging with communities and creating experiences that uphold the inherent worth and well-being of every family through the reinforcement of a strong sense of belonging and connection.
Following the screening, families had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with Director Nathan Greno and Producer Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews, a meaningful invitation into exploring the creative vision and heart behind Swapped.
