AKP Sports foundation hosts Back to School (B2S) Invitational

August 5, 2023

Los Angeles, CA - The AKP Sports Foundation proudly announced the successful conclusion of the Back to School (B2S) Invitational, a basketball tournament dedicated to supporting children in Los Angeles. This event, one of the largest AAPI basketball tournaments in the city, brought together communities, churches, and non-profit organizations for a common cause: providing educational opportunities and resources to children in Los Angeles and Orange County.

The B2S Invitational, which took place on August 5, went beyond being a sports event; it served as a platform that advocated for educational equity. By combining the excitement of competitive basketball with a greater purpose, the Foundation sought to inspire positive change in the community. The event successfully gathered school supplies for children in need. In addition to the basketball tournament, attendees enjoyed an all-day camp designed to provide the children with a safe and engaging environment to learn, play, and grow. The remaining school supplies were donated to New Life Vision Church, a local church based in Los Angeles, to aid them for their upcoming mission trip to Mexico.

"Every child deserves a chance to succeed academically, regardless of their background or circumstances. The Back to School Invitational was our way of giving back and supporting the educational journey of children in Los Angeles," said John Lee, CEO of the AKP Sports Foundation. "By coming together and participating in this event, we were able to create a lasting impact and contribute to building a brighter future for these deserving children."

The AKP Sports Foundation was thrilled to see the Los Angeles community come together and join them for an unforgettable experience that combined the love of basketball with a greater purpose. By participating in the B2S Invitational, attendees became advocates for educational equity and contributed directly to supporting children's educational needs.

The event took place at Terasaki Budokan in Little Tokyo, and featured thrilling basketball games, inspiring guest speakers, and various activities for families and basketball enthusiasts alike.
