New York, NY — March 10, 2026 — The AKP Sports Foundation will host the 7th annual Korean American Soccer Tournament (KAST) on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Randall’s Island Park in New York City, bringing together more than 400 participants from across the East Coast for a full day of competition, community, and cultural celebration through sport.

The 7th tournament of its kind and now in its 4th year; KAST has grown into one of the largest Korean American soccer tournaments in the United States, connecting athletes, students, and community members through the shared passion of soccer and community engagement.

This year’s tournament will feature 24 teams, including:

  • 10 college teams representing universities from across the East Coast

  • 8 adult men’s teams

  • 4 women’s teams

Teams will compete throughout the day across multiple fields at Randall’s Island Park, creating a vibrant environment that celebrates both athletic competition and the strength of the Korean and Asian American community.

The 2026 tournament is also being organized in partnership with New York City’s professional soccer club, NYCFC (New York City Football Club), helping further elevate the event’s visibility and impact.

“KAST has become a meaningful platform that brings together Korean American athletes and communities through sport,” said John Lee, CEO & President of AKP Sports Foundation. “Beyond competition, this event represents leadership, cultural pride, and the power of sports to unite people from different backgrounds and cities.”

Jaeseok Choi, Vice President of AKP Sports Foundation, added, “Events like KAST are important because they create opportunities for Korean American athletes and students to connect, compete, and build lasting relationships through sports. We are excited to see teams from across the East Coast come together in New York for what will be our largest tournament yet.”

The tournament is expected to draw players, supporters, and families from across the New York metropolitan area and the broader East Coast, making it the largest KAST event to date.
